Tolland Bulky Waste Collection

The Tolland Town Council approved changes to the Metal/Bulky Waste program that will reduce the Town’s expenses. The following changes are:

Reduce the number of Town sponsored monthly pick-ups of Metal/Bulky Waste at curbside to one.
Authorize our vendor (Casella Waste Systems) to do (11) additional monthly Metal/Bulky Waste at curbside pick-ups per year with the resident being charged by the vendor $34 per pick-up for up to (4) reasonable sized items. Reservations are not confirmed until payment is received by Willimantic Waste Paper Co., Inc. for those months where there is a charge.
- Paid reservations can only be done by calling Casella Waste Systems at the phone number below: Eliminate the picking up of oil at curbside due to environmental concerns. Some auto parts businesses take used motor oil for a small fee.

All other procedures for Metal/Bulky Waste will remain the same. Metal/Bulky Waste will only be picked up the first full week of every month. Reservations must be made 4 days in advance by calling Casella Waste Systems at (800) 286-5335 or (860) 423-4527 or by making a reservation through Casella’s website.
