Each Town of Ledyard resident is allowed two bulky waste pick-ups per calendar year. Bulky Waste pickups are intended for removal of a nominal amount of trash. A nominal amount is deemed to be the amount that would fit into the back of a small size pick-up truck. If you anticipate exceeding this amount you will need to make arrangements for a dumpster.
Material must be placed in accordance with the following guidelines and limitations. Improperly placed items will not be removed. Unless otherwise noted below, collection of bulky waste material will be on Mondays. Material must be placed at the curb by 6:00am.
- Mattresses: Each household can have a maximum of two mattresses out for pickup.
- Scrap Wood: A neat pile of material not to exceed five feet long, three feet high, and five feet wide.
- No Sheetrock/drywall or plaster.
- Non-Freon Appliances: Each household is allowed one appliance per pick-up. Freon-bearing items must display a pickup decal available from The Ledyard Town Hall and Libraries, at the cost of $5.00.
